I went to a wedding this past Saturday. Both the groom and the bride were close friends of mine, therefore making it hard for me to decide which side of the isle to sit on. I got some surprise attention during the reception, when Davie’s father credited me as the “match maker” during his speech. Then I realized they did meet at a house party I threw in college. That was over eleven years ago.
I’ve gone to many weddings over the years. When I was single, I wondered when it would be my turn. Now that I’m married, I wonder what took these people so long.
Davie and Zusan, I wish you guys the best.
Web Design: On Essence

When I was younger, my ambition was to become a film director. To me, film making embodies the discipline of all art forms. A good director involves the use of fine art, fashion, sound, imagery, dialog and cinematography. All these elements come together to give people a gratifying experience. A good film can make you laugh, cry, scared or even angry.
I never pursued the film career path. Instead, I became a web designer.

My week started out great, and it’s going to end nicely too. This past weekend, I ended my three month long quest of DSLR camera shopping. Which camera did I end up getting? I’ll write about it next week. It’s truly amazing though, 800 shots taken this week so far. Also, I’m going Niagara Falls this weekend for my wedding anniversary trip. It’s a place I’ve always wanted to visit. Hopefully I’ll take some good photos.

In my previous article, I analyzed Barack Obama’s campaign site, and talked about how well it’s designed. My original plan was to include a brief comparison to senator John McCain’s site. Due to the length of the article, and fairness to Mr. McCain, I think it’s only appropriate if I give his campaign site an unbiased review as I did for Mr. Obama.

If we adore beauty alone and ignore the ugliness, then beauty isn’t true.
If we’re fixated on kindness only and forget the unkind, then kindness is superficial.
That’s why the truth comes from balancing the opposing forces such as full vs. void; long vs. short; high vs. low; voice vs. melody; front vs. back.
One’s actions and words must be based on natural selflessness(Wu Wei).
Just like how the universe operates: it creates without possessing, nourishes without wanting, succeeds without boasting.
When one follows the selfless way of Tao, he/she will be as eternal.

The Tao that can be described, is not the eternal Tao.
The name that’s used as a mere label, is not everlasting.
When the universe was first formed, it was a nameless void;
When names came to existence, that’s when everything started.
So, when people are void of earthly desires, that’s when they can clearly see the marvelous essence of the universe;
If not, then they can merely see superficial things on the surface.
The two outcomes came from looking at the same source, but differ in name.
Tao is found within that void source.
Only in that void source, lies the gateway to enlightenment.
