This week went by really fast. In fact, it went by so fast that I lost track of the days. Which explains why my usual Thursday blog got published late, pushing this one back. I can’t believe October is here already. DC is getting ready for the autumn. So long summer haze.

- Serpent Feet - Knowing when to stop and over elaborating is often difficult. I refer back to a favorite Chinese idiom of mine.
- XHTML Strict - Coding in XHTML 1.0 Strict doctype may seem overwhelming at first. It’s not very difficult if you are aware of a few key things to watch out for.
- Obama Rally Photos (via Flickr) - I’ve been wanting to shoot a crowd scene ever since I got my new camera. What better place than a campaign rally? I stood in the same spot under the hot sun for 3 hours, and then got rained on for 2 hours. I think it was worth it.
Blogs From Elsewhere
- Subtraction 7.1 - Khoi re-vamped his site. I somehow missed this. I guess it’s because he didn’t update his blog for a while. His site is one of very few I can honestly call “timeless,” both in content and design.
- A Guide to Choosing Colors for Your Brand - It seems original content is being over shadowed by list-fests these days within the design blogsphere. If you don’t want to be over inspired by 100,000,000 omfgbbq lists, please head over to Dmitry’s blog for some nice articles. I’m still convinced he has access to my brain before I do. He always writes topics I wanted to do.
- Multiple Form Labels and Screen Readers - Roger Johansson’ s blog is one of the best on accessibility and web standards.
- Fall Color Contest - Apartment Therapy’s 4th annual interior decoration contest. So far there are some impressive entries. This one is my favorite.
- You’re My Shadow Today - Among the non-design related blogs I read, this is one of my favorites. If you ever worked in food service, as a waiter, busboy, cashier etc, you’ll be able to relate. I waited tables for a while back in high school, and I don’t miss it at all.
2Advanced Couple
- Neverrain - You may not be familiar with the name Eric Jordan, but I’m sure you’ve heard of his other site, 2dvanced.com Did you know he’s a superb DJ too? Neverrain is his personal music blog where he publishes excellent tracks monthly, for free download.
- Rachel Diamond Photography - In his latest blog, Eric explained why he’d been absent from writing. Turned out he’s engaged to a very talented photographer, Rachel Diamond. Congrats!
Good Flix
- The Joy of Interlacing - A very well done video on interlacing. Check out Videopia’s other videos too.
- Ninja New York - My friend Jeff went to this restaurant on his recent trip to NYC. This is one of the best restaurant promotional videos ever! I think if i ever go there, I’ll dress up as a samurai, so I don’t have to leave a tip.
Hi Jin.
Thanks for sharing the these links particularly the free music track. I listen to trance/house/lounge etc. Anyways I never heard of Neverrain till now. I’m listening to this and you’re right this is great stuff and a good find!
Thanks Ponchai. I’m glad you liked it. He has some great tracks.
